Open Classroom Initiative for Peer Observers

The Open Classroom Initiative (OCI) aims to create a safe and collaborative environment for teaching staff to enhance their practices through peer observation. In Semester 1 of 2023-24, OCI will be conducted in two phases:  

•    Phase I: 6 Nov (Week 8) to 17 Nov (Week 9)  
•    Phase II: 20 Nov (Week 10) to 1 Dec (Week 11)  

We are excited to invite you to participate in observing the following open classroom sessions arranged within Weeks 10 & 11 (20 Nov-1 Dec). Please note that you will receive information about the classroom venue after registering for a physical classroom session.

Opening physical classrooms (Venue details will be provided upon registration):
1. To Develop Year 1 Students for Their Critical Thinking Skills

2. Teacher-led Group Discussions to Help Students Better Understand the Complex Concepts

3. Increasing Student Interaction with Digital and Conventional Tools  
Course Instructor: Dr. Yegor GREBNEV  
Course Title: China and Early Civilizations

Call for Presenters | Brown Bag Teaching Sharing

Brown Bag Teaching Sharing (BBTS) is a program series organized by CTL, aiming to provide an informal and pleasing environment for peer communication and learning among teaching staff. The platform is available to all teaching staff to register themselves as presenters on a voluntary basis. If you are interested in sharing your hands-on experiences or insights on teaching with other teachers at UIC, please write down your sharing topic and available sharing time in the survey.
