Sharing | Brown Bag Teaching Sharing Session 4

On 23 March 2023, the fourth session of Brown Bag Teaching Sharing (BBTS) was held in T2-202. BBTS aims to provide an informal and pleasing environment for peer communication and learning among teaching staff.

We are pleased to have Dr. Iceman Hoi Yung LEUNG (Acting Associate Department Head of Culture, Creativity and Design, School of Culture and Creativity) to share his experiences in using Mentimeter in engaging students in class. Nearly 10 teachers attended this session.

Dr. Leung introduced the online platform, Mentimeter, as a media to operate the Audience Response System (ARS), which provides real-time interactions among students and teachers in class. He shared the basic functions of the Mentimeter platform with the analysis of UIC rubrics and explained the benefits of using it. He also practiced his methods of using the platform with the audiences at scene. Attended teaching staff asked questions in details of use, and exchanged opinion on the pros and cons of using Mentimeter as an assistance of in-class activity.
