“Chill Out May” Gathering 教师 “五月解压站”活动

To better build a communication platform with a chance to unwind and recharge, and enhance mutual understanding and communication among teachers, the UIC Union and the Centre for Teaching and Learning will jointly hold a "Chill Out May" Gathering for all teaching and teaching support staff with the following arrangements:

Part 1:
A Lecture on Psychological Health- “Open the Door to the Consultation Room”
Time: 12:00-13:00
Presenter: Dr. Kang Rong (Senior Executive Counselor of UIC PGCC, Doctor of Developmental and Educational Psychology, National Second-Level Psychological Counselor)
Language: Mandarin
Abstract: This lecture, based on the reality of the popularization of psychological counseling services, proposes from the perspective of a psychologist a series of issues that might arise before counseling such as what kind of assistance psychological counseling could offer, how to choose the right counselor, what styles would be more proper for different people, etc. It introduces to teachers what it is like to work with a psychologist and will offer you an opportunity to gain a deeper insight into psychological counseling.


Part 2: Stress-relieving Gathering
Time: 13:00-14:00
Relax and enjoy a delightful brunch with ice cream. The gathering will also provide a mug-making activity, an emotion corner, and other stress-relieving games to entertain both body and mind. All participats will receive a mystery gift.

We are pleased to announce that the Meal-with-Your-Professor program (MYP), co-organized by the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) & Students Affairs Office (SAO), will be launched from 13 May (Monday) to 17 May (Friday) 2024.

The purpose of the MYP program is to provide you with opportunities to have a conversation with your professor over the meal/coffee time. You could take advantage of this program to discuss possible career options, research opportunities, as well as seek general academic and life advice!

Member Spotlight - Exclusive to In Partnership in 2024. This month, Advanced HE showcased some of the best practices from around the HE sector. Artificial Intelligence (AI) can produce outputs that satisfy the requirements of some high-stakes assessments across various disciplines, including law, medicine, and engineering. It has driven concerns about a new wave of AI-enabled cheating and questions about the sustainability and authenticity of current assessment practices. This presentation explores how assessment needs to change in the age of AI. It draws upon the presenter's work as one of the leaders of the significant Australian project Assessment reform for a time of artificial intelligence, which the Australian higher education regulator funded. The presentation's primary focus is resolving the tension between preparing students for a world permeated by AI and ensuring the integrity and security of assessment.
