Call for Application of the Industry-Education Integration Track of the 4th Guangdong Innovative Teaching Contest in Higher Education
第四届北师港浸大教师教学创新大赛:产教融合赛道公开遴选通知

Announcement for the seventh track, the Industry-Education Integration Track, in the 4th Guangdong Innovative Teaching Contest in Higher Education (第四届全国高校教师教学创新大赛广东分赛暨广东省高校教师教学创新大赛产教融合赛道) has been released by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province. As urgently informed by the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, all teaching staff at UIC are encouraged to participate. Candidates will be selected through an internal review before being recommended to the provincial contest. Non-native Mandarin-speaking participants are recommended to cooperate with Mandarin-speaking colleagues. Detailed information and further instructions are provided in Chinese below.

Staff Mentoring Program Workshops

SMP is designed to provide mentoring relationships for new academic staff at the Lecturer or Assistant Professor ranks, with the goal of fostering professional development during their first teaching year at UIC. This initiative presents an exceptional opportunity for both mentees and mentors to establish meaningful relationships, exchange experiences, and advance your professional development.

Furthermore, two Staff Mentoring Workshops are scheduled to provide you with valuable insights and opportunities for mutual learning and harnessing your character strengths for professional growth:

Workshop 3: Creating an Equitable EMI Environment

Workshop 4: Implementing and Reflecting Equity in University EMI Settings (Save Date!)

These workshops aim to equip you with the knowledge and strategies to create inclusive EMI classrooms and promote equitable learning outcomes for all your students.

Open Classroom Initiative | Call for Open-up Classrooms for Week 5 & 6 （18 Mar—29 Mar）

OCI aims to create a safe and collaborative environment for teaching staff to enhance their practices through peer observation. You have the opportunity to open your physical classroom for a one- or two-hour session to showcase a specific aspect of your teaching and learning practice for which you would like to receive feedback from your peers. Additionally, you can choose to observe your colleagues to enhance your teaching skills.

OCI Period for Semester 2 of 2023 - 24:
· Phase I: 18 Mar (Week 5) to 29 Mar (Week 6)
· Phase II: 8 Apr (Week 8) to 19 Apr (Week 9)

Benefits:
· Gain valuable peer feedback on your teaching.
· Share your expertise and contribute to teaching excellence.
· Build a supportive network of instructors

How to Participate:
1. Review the detailed procedure
2. Register your open classroom by 12 pm, 29 March through MIS Survey: https://mis.uic.edu.cn/survey/login.jsp.
3. Host your session and complete the Open Classroom Reflection Form
4. Receive a certificate upon successful completion.
