"Beyond Boundaries" T&L Lecture Series | Problem Awareness and National Social Science Fund Applications
“纵横立方”教与学讲座 | 彭文斌:破解社科基金申报密码


To enhance the professional expertise of our teachers and expand academic horizons and intellectual boundaries, CTL has designed the "Beyond Boundaries" T&L Lecture Series. This series is centered around the core philosophy of "surveying historical perspectives, spanning interdisciplinary integration, upholding educational craftsmanship, and shaping future vision." It aims to provide a platform for our faculty to engage in profound dialogue with academic leaders and explore cutting-edge ideas, and assist teachers in achieving cognitive advancement and professional breakthroughs across multiple dimensions.

The first lecture focuses on research advancement, featuring Prof. Wenbin PENG, who has successfully secured three major National Social Science Fund grants. He will share his extensive research experience and application insights on the theme of "Problem Awareness and National Social Science Fund Applications" helping our faculty achieve breakthroughs in research endeavors.

首场讲座聚焦"科研突围"实战命题 ,特邀国家社科基金"三冠学者"彭文斌教授,以“问题意识与国家社科基金申报”为主题,分享其多年科研经验与申报心得,助力我校教师在科研道路上实现突破。

Abstract: In this lecture, Prof. PENG will draw on his extensive experience to provide an in-depth analysis of the critical role of problem awareness in National Social Science Fund applications. He will share practical techniques and insights to help our faculty enhance research capabilities and achieve greater success in funding applications.

Prof. Wenbin PENG is a Professor at Sichuan Normal University, Director of the Cultural Industry Management Department, and a Doctoral Supervisor. He has led key projects for the National and Sichuan Social Science Funds.
Staff Mentoring Program Workshops , Sem 2 of 2024-2025

SMP aims to provide mentoring relationships for new faculty members at the Lecturer or Assistant Professor levels, fostering professional development during their first year at UIC. This program offers a unique opportunity for both mentors and mentees to build meaningful relationships, share experiences, and enhance their professional growth.

Call for Applications of the New Teacher Track of the 5th Guangdong Innovative Teaching Contest in Higher Education

Following the successful conclusion of our university-level Innovative Teaching Contest, we are excited to share that the Guangdong Association of Higher Education has recently released the announcement for the 5th Guangdong Innovative Teaching Contest in Higher Education. Notably, a new track, the New Teacher Track, has been introduced for this edition.
Given this development, we are seeking one full-time teacher who joined UIC after January 1, 2023, from each faculty to participate in this new track. The key details and requirements for the New Teacher Track could be found by clicking the link below. Candidates will be selected through an internal review before being recommended to the provincial contest.

The Induction Program of Semester 2 of 2024 - 2025

The program aims to acclimate colleagues, particularly new hires this semester but all staff are welcome, to outcome-based teaching and learning, strategies for digital learning and teaching, and pedagogical knowledge at UIC.

The following Induction Program workshops will be conducted from 17-to 26 Feb 2025. Participants who complete at least four workshops will receive a certificate of completion.

Refreshments / light lunch will be provided. Please register at least 3 hours before each session for light lunch preparation.
