CTL Activities

The Induction Program of Semester 2 of 2024-2025

The program aims to acclimate colleagues, particularly new hires this semester but all staff are welcome, to outcome-based teaching and learning, strategies for digital learning and teaching, and pedagogical knowledge at UIC.

The following Induction Program workshops will be conducted from 17-to 26 Feb 2025. Participants who complete at least four workshops will receive a certificate of completion.

Refreshments / light lunch will be provided. Please register at least 3 hours before each session for light lunch preparation.

IP Workshop 2:E-learning: Brief Introduction and Tutorial on iSpace

IP Workshop 3: Future-Oriented Curriculum Reform Strategies

Abstract:
The recent rapid progress in Artificial Intelligence (AI) has made innovation a hallmark of the contemporary era. Institutions of higher learning across the world are trying not only to keep up with innovation but also to take a global lead in it. UIC is no exception. This workshop discusses UIC’s plans to develop new transdisciplinary major programs and to refocus its general education curriculum on teaching AI. The purpose of these efforts is to train future-ready students with a broad academic foundation and a comprehensive range of unique competencies—to prepare students for productive participation in and leadership of the era of innovation.

IP Workshop 4:Introduction of a new Mentor Caring Program(MCP)

Abstract:
The session will outline the core objectives of the new MCP, which include providing tailored guidance to students through clearly defined mentorship roles, enhancing faculty professional development, and promoting resource efficiency. Participants will gain insights into the key mentorship categories—Academic Mentors, Mentors, Faculty Coordinators of Student Affairs, and Peer Mentors—and their respective roles in supporting students' academic, personal, and social growth.

IP Workshop 5:How to Master Teaching Skills and Enhance Teaching Effectiveness

Conference Paper Submission Guidelines:
1.    Certificates will be issued by the association to authors whose papers receive the Annual Conference Theme Paper Award after review.
2.    Papers should be submitted as a Word document and sent to the association's secretariat email (jypgxh@126.com) by 6 March, 2025.

Note: The conference fee (including training fees, material fees, etc.) is 500 RMB per person. For full-time graduate students, the fee is 300 RMB per person.
