The Induction Program of Semester 2 of 2024-2025

Warmest welcome to you as we commence the new semester.
We are pleased to launch a Induction Program for all teaching and teaching support staff. The program aims to acclimate colleagues, particularly new hires this semester but all are welcome, to outcome-based teaching and learning, strategies for digital learning and teaching, and pedagogical knowledge at UIC.

The following Induction Program workshops will be conducted from 17-to 26 Feb 2025. Participants who complete at least four workshops will receive a certificate of completion.

Please register at least 3 hours before each session for light lunch preparation.

New Letter of Advance HE in Partnership (January & February 2025)

Highlights of the January issue:
  • Celebrating Membership and Fellowship – We’re proud to have reached over 200,000 Fellows and 450 members worldwide – thank you for being part of this community! There is more information about this and recent developments – such as the launch of the PSF translated into Arabic and soon into Thai – on page 2.

  • Global Impact Grants - Our scheme to provide funding of £1,000 for 15 successful applicants to share case studies of impactful work is open. Any of your staff can apply for the grant funding – see details on page 3.

  • Resources and webinars – Including a new employability case study compendium, webinars on using data to improve student outcomes and on our student needs framework, and a member session on designing learning and teaching strategies in times of change. Details on page 3.

  • Launch of Leadership Framework for Higher Education – This new framework to support leading at all levels in higher education will be launched on 12 February. See details on page 3.


Highlights of the February issue:
  • Member Benefits – We have published six new member benefit podcasts on Doing Leadership Differently, and as part of our Student Outcomes member benefit, we will be delivering a free webinar on 27th February for you to hear about the Student Needs Framework – where we will consider how institutions use this framework in their dialogue around service re-design its challenges and learning. We also have a member-only webinar on 13 February about developing Learning and Teaching Strategies in times of change. (see page 2 for details)

  • Fellowship updates - There's some great updates about Fellowship, including celebrating our 200,000th Fellow and 2,000th Principal Fellow, alongside the launch of our new Fellowship podcast (page 3) on Spotify, which provides insights into various aspects of Fellowship.

  • Global Impact Grants - Our scheme to provide funding of £1,000 for 15 successful applicants to share impactful work opens on 15 January and is open to all staff in international member institutions. You only need to submit a 300 word abstract to be considered, and institutions can submit multiple applications if they wish.

  • Advance HE Spotlight – Following the launch of Advance HE’s Strategy 2030, we will be hosting a free webinar on 22nd January which brings to life how our strategy was developed and shaped with our members in mind, in addressing the challenges they face today and work to equip them and their people for the future. And we put the spotlight on our Education team, who support the tertiary education sector to enhance student experiences and outcomes through their expertise and knowledge, with work spanning from supporting individual academic programme teams to partnering with entire institutions, while also collaborating with government bodies and sector agencies across the UK and internationally.

Call for Participation and Submission | Guangdong Education Evaluation Association Meeting on Leadership Transition and the 2025 Annual Academic Conference

Theme: Educational Evaluation Reform in the Context of Building a Strong Education Nation

Registration Deadline: 6:00 pm, 13 March 2025 (Thu)

Conference Paper Submission Guidelines:
1.    Certificates will be issued by the association to authors whose papers receive the Annual Conference Theme Paper Award after review.
2.    Papers should be submitted as a Word document and sent to the association's secretariat email (jypgxh@126.com) by 6 March, 2025.

Note: The conference fee (including training fees, material fees, etc.) is 500 RMB per person. For full-time graduate students, the fee is 300 RMB per person. Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.
