Mr. Jonas Kelsch (English Language Centre, School of General Education) teaches general and academic English and specialises in writing tutoring. He arrived in China shortly after receiving a bachelor’s degree in language and international studies from the College of Saint Scholastica, USA, where he began working at UIC as an English Language Centre intern. After receiving his CELTA, he was appointed as a lecturer – a position he served in for five years before pursuing a Master of Journalism at The University of Hong Kong. Following graduation, he worked as a corporate writer and part-time lecturer at several Hong Kong tertiary institutions. In 2018, he returned to UIC as an English lecturer. During his time at UIC, he has taught a variety of general and academic English skills to students and served as an IELTS examiner. Recently, he has engaged in blended learning research and has served as an editor of academic manuscripts.
