Sharing | President’s Award for Teaching

Dr. Maggie Tang (FHSS), the recipient 2021-2022 President's Award for Teaching, was born in Hong Kong. She completed her master's and doctoral degree in the United States. Dr. Tang has teaching social work for 14 years, 3 at Stockton College of New Jersey, and 11 at UIC. Prior to teaching social work, she was a social work practitioner, practicing in San Francisco for 10 years. She is the warden of Literary Education Hall and she enjoys spending time with students.

Dr. James Z. Yang (SGE), the recipient 2021-2022 President's Award for Teaching, obtained his Ph.D in the program of educational studies from the University of Oklahoma in 2016. Currently, he acts as an assistant professor of the Chinese Language and Culture Center (CLC) at BNU-HKBU United International College, enthusiastically teaching some courses pertinent to Chinese culture, history, and literature. Likewise, he is committed to publishing his works on John Dewey and Confucius, as well as Chinese intellectual history.

Professor Zhenmin Tang 汤贞敏教授 is the Executive Vice President of the Guangdong Institute of Higher Education, the former Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Guangdong Institute of Education（广东省高等教育学会常务副会长,广东省教育研究院原党委书记、院长,副厅级干部、研究员），获2019年获广东省教育教学成果奖高等教育类及职业教育类一等奖

Registration required.
The lecture will be conducted in Mandarin.

Prof. Tao Tang obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Peking University in 1984, followed by a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Leeds in 1989. He has long served in Canada and Hong Kong in various key roles, from Head of the Department of Mathematics, Dean of Science, to Associate Vice-President. From 2015 to 2019, he was appointed as the Vice-President and Provost at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech). From 2019 to present, he has been the President of Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC).
