The second Academic Drinks of the semester was successfully held on the afternoon of Tuesday, 29 April 2025. The event took place in the warm and cosy environment of Chias Coffee from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
The event aimed to build a relaxed and informal networking platform for faculty and staff. More than 30 faculty members from different cultural backgrounds participated in the event, enjoying delicate refreshments and fine wines while talking about their teaching experiences and sharing their research results.

The atmosphere of the event was relaxed and enjoyable, with plenty of time set aside for socialising and encouraging teachers to talk freely about teaching topics and academic insights that interest them.

The event featured two speakers who, drawing from their respective professional fields, delivered engaging presentations to the attendees.
Dr. Alisa Wenmeng He, Assistant Professor from Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), gave a presentation titled “Introduction to Coffee Appreciation”. She vividly introduced the content of her course and shared research findings on coffee beans. Dr. He also specially invited her student to share her valuable experience in participating in scientific research.

Dr. Yegor Grebnev, Assistant Professor from Chinese Culture and Global Communication, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS), delivered a fascinating speech on “How Excavated Manuscripts Make Early China Studies More Exciting Than Ever”. Dr. Grebnev introduced important thinkers of the Warring States period in China and delved into the research value of excavated bamboo slips. He also showcased the precious book of Warring States Bamboo Slips from Tsinghua University.

Following the presentations, colleagues actively interacted and enthusiastically asked questions during the Q&A session and informal discussions. Many attendees expressed high appreciation for the opportunity this event provided for interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration.
