On January 23, 2025, Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) held the online award ceremony of the 2024 Scenario Development Competition. The Competition aims to raise students’ digital citizenship awareness in their digital learning environment, and invites students to design a scenario about digital citizenship, which is to be used in the “AR Trails” app. This collaborative project is led by Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), with five partner universities: City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK), Lingnan University (LU), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU).

Among the 139 submissions received in the Competition, the student team of UIC, composed of Zhiying WANG, Xiaoke LI, Shuonan DONG, and Bingxin CHEN, stood out and achieved the feat of becoming the 2nd Award! Their work focused on digital security, specifically on the topic of Digital Security and Privacy, and presented a thought-provoking scenario titled “What Would You Choose?” The scenario vividly portrays a common scam targeting students purchasing train tickets, immersing users in the experience through an interactive, choice-based game format. By allowing users to make decisions from the protagonist’s perspective, the scenario enables them to witness firsthand the consequences of their choices, fostering a deeper understanding of digital security risks. At the end, practical anti-fraud tips are provided, equipping users with essential knowledge and countermeasures to handle similar situations.
