On October 23, well-attended sharing titled “Advance HE Fellowship | Recognition of your expertise” took place at T2-202 from 12:30 to 13:20. The session, led by Dr. Craig Cooper, a lecturer at the English Language Centre and Fellow of Higher Education Academy (HEA), attracted 16 participants. The sharing focused on the globally recognized HEA Fellowship, an accreditation from the UK-based Advance HE, known for promoting professionalism in higher education through professional development.

Before Dr.Cooper’s presentation, Dr. Milen Gotchev Jissov, Associate Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning and Associate Professor of the Faculty of Humanities and Social, delivered an opening speech, welcoming participants and introducing the significance of profession in teaching.

During the sharing, Dr. Cooper shared his personal experiences related to the preparation and application process for fellowship, and guided the participants on the requirements and purpose of the Advance HEA Fellowship. He emphasized how the Fellowship offers professional recognition across four categories: Associate Fellowship, Fellowship, Senior Fellowship, and Principal Fellowship.
Key takeaways from the sharing included understanding the requirements of the Professional Standards Framework (PSF 2023), the value of reflective practice, and how to demonstrate professionalism through evidence.
