Sharing on Class Video Recording Held Successfully
To better support teachers to prepare for upcoming teaching contests, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) held a sharing on Class Video Recording on 28 September 2022 at T2-202. We are delighted to have Dr. Wei Jiang, Ms. Yanyan Ji, and Dr. Chai Lee Lim as speakers to share their experiences and tips in class video recording. Around 30 teaching staff participated in this sharing.
Dr. Yi-Lung Kuo gave a welcome speech
Three speakers shared valuable experiences to the audiences on different aspects of class video recording. As the Executive Dean of School of Culture and Creativity and the recipient of First-Class Undergraduate Curriculum, Dr. Jiang shared handy tips on how to conduct a shooting of class recording. After this, Ms. Ji, as the third-Prize winner of Guangdong Innovative Teaching Contest and the second-prize winner of Guangdong Teaching Contest for Young Teachers, shared more insights on the content of class video recording that needs to be taken into account, including rubrics, ideological and political teaching content, critical thinking and E-learning activities. At last, Dr. Lim, as the recipient for Guangdong First-Class Undergraduate Curriculum, shared in details her preparation of the shooting and content arrangements. She also emphasized the important of ‘stay ready because we don’t have time to get ready’.

Attended teachers had a heated discussion in the later Q&A session. Through this sharing and discussion, experiences have been spread out, questions been discussed and actions of taking class video shooting been encouraged.
