On September 9, 2022, the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) held an Ice Cream Social and Open House Party to celebrate Teachers' Day and introduce the new CTL office zone to teachers. About 100 teaching staff from different faculties and schools joined, chatted with each other, shared their teaching and life experiences, and learned how CTL could be of support to them.

As the first Chinese mainland-Hong Kong joint venture university, UIC’s teaching staff come from more than 30 countries and regions. The diversity of their teaching philosophies and cultures continues to characterize the development of liberal arts education.

The Ice Cream Social is a great opportunity for teachers to meet each other and relish their teaching at the beginning of the new semester.

Through the Open House Party, more teaching staff know CTL’s missions and objectives. CTL is serving as a resource hub to foster teachers’ professional development and teaching effectiveness. Further, CTL aims to build a warm community where teachers could enjoy teaching and then empowering students.
