About the Speaker:

Dr. Weishan MIAO is an Associate Professor at the School of Journalism, Renmin University of China. His research focuses on the interplay between technology, culture, and society, with particular attention to marginality, inequality, and social justice in the Global South. His work has been published in numerous leading international journals, including Journal of Communication, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, New Media & Society, Social Media + Society, Information, Communication & Society, Mobile Media & Communication, and The Information Society. He has also served as a reviewer for over 50 SSCI-indexed journals and several English-language academic publishers.
