We are delighted to announce the launch of the Meal-with-Your-Professor program (MYP), co-organized by the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and the Student Affairs Office (SAO). This semester, the MYP program will run from 4 November (Mon) to 15 November (Fri) 2024, giving you 2 weeks to participate.

The MYP program provides you with a unique opportunity to engage with your professors over a meal or coffee. You can use this time to discuss career options, research opportunities, or seek academic and personal advice.

Guidelines:

1. Participants: Groups of one to three students may invite one professor (faculty teaching staff) to join them for a meal or coffee at one of the following campus venues: Faculty Club (贤贤居), CHIAS Coffee (文创咖啡馆), or For You (浮屿). The program runs from 4 November to 15 November 2024. Students are responsible for inviting the professor and notifying them of the meeting time and location.

2.  Reimbursement: CTL will reimburse the meal expenses (A maximum of RMB 50 per person per gathering) for the student who pays for the meals. The reimbursement is subject to the evidence, including but not limited to the copy of the meal receipt and a group photo with all participating students and the invited professor during the meal. Each student could be reimbursed ONCE during the MYP period. Only meal payment for the MYP program occurred between 4 November (Mon) and 15 November (Fri) 2024 will be accepted and processed.

3. Application Process: It is recommended that one student covers the meal cost and applies for reimbursement afterward. The student who pays for the meals could enter WeCom or log in UIC Portal via PC terminal (highly recommended) to apply for the reimbursement no later than 18 November 2024 (see attachment for detailed instruction). Late application will not be processed.

4. Notification and Collection: The qualified reimbursement will be notified via email. The time to collect the reimbursement amount is between 25 November (Mon) to 29 November (Fri), 2024 (Office Hour).

5. Personal Belongings: Please take care of your belongings during the event, as CTL and SAO are not responsible for any loss, damage, or theft.

6. Photography: Please be aware that photos may be taken during the event and used for CTL’s promotional purposes. By participating, you are providing consent for your image to be used for non-profit purposes, including advertising and promotion.

7. Food Allergies: Participants should be mindful of their own food allergies. CTL and SAO are not liable for any health issues that may arise due to allergic reactions or food-related discomfort.
