The Induction Program of Semester 2 of 2022-2023


We are pleased to announce that the Induction Program for all new teaching staff members, including teaching support staff, joining UIC during Academic Year 2022-2023 is launched. The aim of this Program is to help new colleagues get familiar with outcomes-based teaching and learning, strategies for digital learning and teaching, pedagogical knowledge, and teaching support at UIC.

The following Induction Program workshops will be conducted between 16-23 February 2023. Please register in advance by clicking here for better meal preparation.

Part 1: Engaging students: The first skill of Teaching

Abstract:

As a social work professional, Dr. Maggie TANG has been using social work values and principles to direct her teaching practice and job duties, which include but not limited to mentoring, role modeling and counseling in educational setting. Dr. TANG would like to share with colleagues the job duties besides teaching, how these social work values guide her teaching and support students’ learning.
