News Brief | Dining Together, Creating Memories: “Stay Hungry: Meal with Your Professor” Has Successfully Concluded

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) successfully concluded the "Stay Hungry: Meal with Your Professor" event for the 2025–2026 fall semester, held from November 17 to 28. With over 500 participants, this event marked a record high in attendance.

Designed to foster informal dialogue beyond the classroom, the event employed a flexible scheduling model, allowing students and faculty to connect over meals at their convenience. Both groups praised the initiative for creating a relaxed atmosphere conducive to open conversation and stronger connections.

As a key initiative to build a vibrant academic community, the event effectively shortened the distance between teachers and students. CTL remains committed to expanding such informal interactive platforms to enrich the educational experience at BNBU.

2026 BNBU Teaching Contest 北师香港浸会大学教师教学大赛

To promote teaching excellence at Beijing Normal - Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU), the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is pleased to launch the 2026 BNBU Teaching Contest. This institution-wide initiative aims to uphold the spirit of “Fostering Virtue and Cultivating Talents”, promote teaching innovation, support the development of teachers, and build a high-caliber teaching community。

Contest Groups and Eligibility

The 2026 BNBU Teaching Contest is open to all full-time faculty members, and consists of the following two groups:

1. Teaching Innovation Group

• The lead instructor must have taught the participating undergraduate course for at least two times within the past five years;

• Participants may enter as individuals or as teams.

2. Young Teacher Group

• The lead instructor must be under the age of 40 (born after August 31st, 1985);

• Permits individual participation only.

Key Dates

• Pre-registration: Participants are required to submit their pre-registration information (Group Category + Course Name) to ctl@bnbu.edu.cn by 5:00 pm on 29 December 2025 (Mon),

• Final Submission Deadline: 5:00 pm, 12 January 2026 (Mon)

• On-site Presentation (tentative): 21 January 2026 (Wed)
