To promote teaching excellence at Beijing Normal - Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU), the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is pleased to launch the 2026 BNBU Teaching Contest. This institution-wide initiative aims to uphold the spirit of “Fostering Virtue and Cultivating Talents”, promote teaching innovation, support the development of teachers, and build a high-caliber teaching community.

Contest Groups and Eligibility

The 2026 BNBU Teaching Contest is open to all full-time faculty members, and consists of the following two groups:

1. Teaching Innovation Group

l The lead instructor must have taught the participating undergraduate course for at least two times within the past five years;

l Participants may enter as individuals or as teams.  

2. Young Teacher Group

l The lead instructor must be under the age of 40 (born after August 31st, 1985);

l Permits individual participation only.

Key Dates

l Pre-registration: Participants are required to submit their pre-registration information (Group Category+Course Name) to ctl@bnbu.edu.cn by 17:00 on December 29 (Mon), 2025.

l Final Submission Deadline: January 12 (Mon), 2026, 17:00.

l On-site Presentation (tentative): January 21 (Wed), 2026.

Important Notes

l Non-native Mandarin speakers are highly encouraged to submit the applications in English for the university-wide contest. Please kindly notice that those advancing to the provincial contests need to provide materials in Chinese by themselves.

l Finalists nominated for the provincial contests should align their materials with the provincial requirements.

l Should any team membership changes become necessary under provincial competition regulations, participants are required to submit the Confirmation Form for Team Members Changes (see Appendix 5) to ctl@bnbu.edu.cn.
