A Presidential Afternoon:  CTL Hosts an “End of Term Tea (雅园拾光 · 席语新春)” Gathering to Foster Community and Celebrate a Successful Semester

The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) successfully hosted its term-end gathering, “End of Term Tea (雅园拾光 · 席语新春),” on the afternoon of Friday, January 9, 2026. The event, held at the scenic Presidential Residence (雅园), welcomed approximately 50 faculty and staff members for an afternoon dedicated to relaxation, collegial exchange, and welcoming the new year.

Embodying the spirit of casual connection and seasonal renewal, the Residence lawn was transformed into a welcoming campsite-style retreat. Guests enjoyed the gentle afternoon sunshine amidst camping chairs and picnic blankets, savoring a delightful spread of afternoon tea. The setting provided a perfect backdrop for unwinding after a semester’s diligent work.

“The ‘End of Term Tea’ is our heartfelt thank-you to the teaching community,” said Dr. Vivien Wai Wan CHAN, Director of CTL. “As the semester concluded successfully, we wanted to create a space where colleagues could step away from their busy schedules, refresh their minds, share inspirations, and strengthen our sense of community as we step into a hopeful new year with renewed energy.”
