BNBU Academic Drinks: Fostering Transdisciplinary Dialogue and Faculty Knowledge Exchange

The first BNBU Academic Drinks of the 2025 -2026 academic year was successfully held on Tuesday, 28 October 2025 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event took place in the warm and cozy environment of Chias Coffee.

The event provided an informal platform for faculty members to exchange ideas and build connections. More than 30 faculty members from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds participated, enjoying refreshments while sharing teaching experiences and research insights.

The gathering began with informal networking, creating space for spontaneous discussions about teaching methodologies and research interests that transcended disciplinary boundaries.

The event featured two speakers who shared compelling insights from their respective fields:

Dr. Aimee Ya WANG, Associate Professor of the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), delivered a presentation titled "The Silk Road to Better Medicine: How an Ancient Material is Shaping Our Medical Future." She introduced the structure, properties, and extraction of silkworm (Bombyx mori), as well as its innovative applications in modern biomedical engineering.

Dr. Qian GUO, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS), presented her findings on "Chinese Tea in France," examining how Chinese tea culture integrated with French gastronomy and its subsequent cultural transmission and social impact.

Following the presentations, colleagues actively participated in a lively Q&A session. Post-event feedback has been highly positive, with many faculty members expressing appreciation for this valuable opportunity to foster intellectual exchange and innovative connections.
