Seeking the New Path for AI Embedded Education 北师港浸大深入调研多所高校,共探人工智能通识课程发展之路

To explore the dynamic design of AI general education core courses, optimisation strategies for MOOCs, and future development paths in higher education, in mid-to-late July 2024, a research team from the Graduate School and Centre for Teaching and Learning at UIC conducted an extensive research trip. Led by Prof Huang Yu, the Dean of Graduate School, the team visited Fudan University, East China Normal University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing University, Nanjing University of the Arts and Southern University of Science and Technology.

Through systematic in-depth interviews and field visits to these six renowned universities, the team absorbed advanced experiences in general AI education and MOOC development while exploring new demands for course design and teaching methods in higher education in an era of rapid technological advancement.


     At Fudan University and Nanjing University, the research team gained insights from the significant achievements of these two universities in the field of AI general education. Both universities have launched more than one hundred AI-integrated general education courses featuring a comprehensive curriculum system and rich content. Prof Lin Wei, Dean of the Office of Educational Administration at Fudan University, introduced the construction of "AI Courses" in detail and shared their rich experience for General Education curriculum development. Professors from Nanjing University also shared their unique perspectives on education in the era of artificial intelligence.


随着人工智能技术的快速发展,教育领域正面临深刻变革。为探索人工智能通识核心课程的构建、慕课的优化策略与高等教育的未来发展路径,2024年7月中下旬,由北师港浸大研究生院与教师教学发展中心组成的调研队伍在研究生院院长黄煜教授的带领下,先后访问了复旦大学、华东师范大学、上海交通大学、南京大学、南京艺术学院及南方科技大学。

通过对六所知名高校进行系统而深入的调研访问,团队汲取了各校在人工智能通识教育和慕课发展等方面的先进经验,共同探索在高科技极速发展的新时代中,高等教育课程内容设计及教育从业者授课解惑方式的新需求。

在复旦大学和南京大学,调研团队深入了解了这两所高校在人工智能通识课程领域的显著成就。两校已各推出百余门AI融合的通识课程,课程体系完善且内容丰富。复旦大学教育处处长林伟教授等详细介绍了“AI大课”的建设情况,分享了课程体系构建的经验与方法。南京大学的教授们也分享了他们对人工智能时代教育理念的独到见解。

Professors from East China Normal University and Nanjing University of the Arts focused on the cases of integrating AI with their respective disciplines, showcasing innovative practices in AI+Writing, AI+Virtual Production, AI+Animation, and AI+Film. These practices provide valuable references for UIC in future course offerings.


华东师范大学和南京艺术学院的教授们则重点介绍了AI与各自学院课程结合的案例,展示了在AI+写作、AI+虚拟制片、AI+动画及电影等领域的创新实践。这些实践为北师港浸大在未来开设相关课程提供了宝贵的参考。

The team also engaged with education experts from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Southern University of Science and Technology in discussions about the current state, challenges, and opportunities for AI education. They shared insights into how to create dynamic teaching models that break the boundaries between online and offline education, emphasizing flexibility, openness, inspiration and the maximisation of student potential in an era when generative AI is widely used. These discussions broadened the team’s perspectives and provided valuable references for AI-embedded course development at UIC.


团队还与来自上海交通大学和南方科技大学的教育专家就人工智能教育的现状、挑战与机遇进行了深入探讨,并对在生成式人工智能被广泛使用的新科技年代,要如何开创打破线上线下边界、灵活开放、着重启发、能最大发掘学生潜力的动态教学模式进行分享。通过交流,团队拓宽了视野,收集了大量有价值的信息和经验。

This research not only explored the cooperation between UIC and top universities in China, but also provide significant reference for development of general AI education. UIC will actively draw on the advanced experiences of these universities, integrate them with its own unique characteristics, and develop practical strategies to enhance teaching quality and research capabilities on the basis of the principle of “High Aim, Good References, UIC Style”. This will help the university adapt to the development needs of the AI era, cultivate more high-quality talent with innovative spirit and practical abilities, and contribute positively to the reform and innovation of higher education in China.

此次访问加深了北师港浸大与国内顶尖高校之间的交流与合作,对北师港浸大推进人工智能通识教育建设具有重要意义。学校将积极借鉴各高校的先进经验,结合自身实际情况,以“高目标、好参照、UIC特色”为理念,制定切实可行的发展策略以提升教学质量和科研水平,适应人工智能时代的发展需求,培养更多具备创新精神和实践能力的高素质人才,为推动国内高等教育改革和创新做出积极贡献。
