On May 8th, the UIC Union and the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), jointly hosted the Chill Out May Gathering, a special event dedicated to the well-being of UIC's teaching staff. Held from 11 am to 1 pm in room CC-323, the gathering attracted over 50 faculty members to come together in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
The event kicked off with an engaging lecture by Dr Rong KANG titled “Opening the Door to the Counseling Room”. Dr KANG, a seasoned psychologist counsellor, introduced the burgeoning field of psychological counselling and discussed common concerns and scenarios encountered before initiating counselling. The lecture aimed to demystify the process and benefits of working with a psychologist, offering faculty members valuable insights into psychological health.
The second part of the gathering featured various stress-relieving activities that catered to both the mind and body. Highlights included creative mug-making, a unique emotion corner, a delectable brunch with delicate ice creams and surprise gifts. The event was highly praised, and many teachers actively participated in stress-relieving activities.
