With the support from Prof. Huaxiong Huang, Vice-President (Academic), the inaugural meeting of Staff Mentoring Pilot Program (SMPP) was held at noon of the 22nd, September in Changsheng Restaurant. SMPP is to provide a mentoring relationship for new academic staff at the Lecturers and Assistant Professor ranks to foster professional development within the respective programs during the first year.

As the Director of the Centre for Teaching Learning (CTL), Dr. Yi-Lung KUO introduced himself during the lunch, and highlighted the mission of CTL is to promote teaching excellence by providing institutional support. He also strongly encouraged new teaching staff to consult with their mentors when they have questions or confusions about college teaching and professional development.
